Christmas Eve

This year we had a small crew for Christmas.  The three youngest siblings, Holly, Daniel and me, all got our families together to carry on the Lawton traditions.  We had Jesus' birthday cake and my brother Mark wasn't there to keep us from singing Happy Birthday to Jesus.  Us adults just sat and chatted while the kids figured out who was going to play what part and even dressed themselves in whatever costumes they could find around the house.  With the oldest being Kinleigh... I was extremely impressed in how well they acted out the Nativity.  Then my brother read them "The Pack for Santa's Back" story that my Dad tells every year.  We opened our Christmas pajamas, ate more food, and called it a night.  Nothing better in this world then FAMILY.

Christmas Parties

Krew and I went to the school to party with Levi and Kinleigh.  Krew managed to sweet smile his way into pizza and treats in both classes.  I love seeing the kids and how they interact in school and with their classmates.  It is fun to see Levi come to life and to see how much the other kids like him.  I worry with him being so tiny that he will get made fun of but as of now they all seem to love him.  Last time I was talking to his teacher I told her our hesitation in putting him into school this year because he would be the youngest in the class.  Her response to me is that we did the right thing.  He is doing so well academically and socially.  When I visit Kinleigh at school she always takes charge and kind of acts like she runs the room.  She will get up and go to the restroom or get a drink without even asking.  I guess she is showing them who is boss.  The teachers always say she is such a sweet girl and very rarely does she ever get into trouble.

A night out with the Bunco Ladies

Playing with the Animals

I was keeping my friends little boy for the day and so we decided to take a trip to the zoo.  Daniel's work is about five minutes away and so he came and met us for a couple hours.  I feel like the zoo is something that never gets old.

Whoville

My friend, Brittany, is the Primary President and was in charged of the Ward Christmas Party.  We all knew with her in charge that the occasion would be nothing but spectacular.  They truly turned that gym into Whoville.  Amazing!
Right before we were heading out our Secret Santa Family (Jeff and Kira Fisher) dropped off the MOST DELICIOUS homemade rolls and Strawberry Jam.  That ended up being our dinner for the night it was THAT GOOD.

Recital

I was a bit concerned this year about Kinleigh's performance but she managed to pull off yet another great recital!  It must have been that last minute... hours of practicing I made her do before she could play with friends.  Mean Mom.

The Boys

A night out to see lights and visit Old Town Springs with some Amazing Friends.  Kinleigh was at a sleepover for the night and so we just had the boys.  We walked around and looked in some shops, went to dinner, and then checked out some lights in the Woodlands.

Candy Cane Fun Run

All three Elementary Schools in the neighborhood (and this year we included the middle school) get together and put on a Fun Run.  My friend is the PTO President and he usually heads up the Fun Run for our school.  He didn't feel he would have as much time this year and so he recruited me to be the Race Director.  It ended up being quite a time consuming commitment but I really enjoyed  being able to volunteer and participate.  We made some great new changes and were even able to get Santa Clause to lead the race on a Motorcycle.  Of course it ended up being the coldest weekend but we had a fabulous turn-out.  Daniel came and ran with Kinleigh while he pushed the boys.  I had to run it fast so that I could be back and help with the finish.  I even agreed to help out again next year....
